Another exciting day staring at a computer screen
[ Feb 16 2005, 19:19 ]I think I'm under the weather, as they say, not quite 100%. I suspect I might have picked up a bug or several from one or both of the off-spring. "There's a lot going round" apparently, which is strangely reassuring - at least it's not just me that feels ill, and having avoided being struck down by something for so long while everyone around has been dropping like files in a cloud of Vap-O-Kill I should consider myself miraculously charmed. However, I don't think I'm specially immune - it's the almost total isolation that I work in that protects me from social lurgy-plagues.

Today has been a day dominated by phone calls - things in air that I can't discuss publicly, and developing a data synchronisation system for a website I'm developing for a recruitment agency. As it's not finished I can't direct you towards it yet, but I can announce that I've taken a picture and uploaded it to the server that this website is on. I think I can right a little script that I can include in the MJBlog script to create a copy of an image exactly the same width of this column of text. I'll experiment later when I'm back on a proper connection rather than this mobile phone one. Meanwhile, despite my general state of not-quite-up-to-par-ness I seem to have managed to finish today's Telegraph crossword unaided apart from 28 across:
Mind adulterous woman on top of her form (12)
I have these letters: _e_d_i_t_e_s and it's very tempting to fire up XSolver and put myself out of my misery, but not yet dagnammit!
Headmistress !
Hooray! Complete and no help - honest guv. I think I'll stop now and bask ...
