It's all go
Things are happening pretty fast - websites going live and showing up in Google almost immediately, this thing appearing in the top twenty in an international SEO contest, (it was in the top 10 last week), new premier hosting services about to come online and a myriad of minor bits and pieces which all mean I'll need to stop waffling and get on with some work. Meanwhile, I've published some further thoughts on the loquine glupe contest, in case you're interested.

Bingo
It's not 09:59 anymore it's 19:40 and I'm smoking a cigar, which I don't usually do, but, hey, I've just noticed my first referral for 'Cambridge web design' and a quick check on the Big G for this search term finds my site at no.4. As mentioned in an earlier blog entry this isn't particularly ideal anymore as this site has been redesigned and rebuilt since I started this thing and the page that shows up is in an older style, which leaves my scratching my head a little. I could, of course, simply update the page to bring it in-line with the contemporary site, or user a variety of redirects. However, I think the thing to do now is treat this in the way I would treat a client's site: do some keyword research to try to discover search terms that would have a positive impact on my business, (rather than just positions and/or traffic), and aim for those.
