Local news for local people

I've been editor of my local village newsletter for several months now and being a famous Internet Expert I've naturally been developing ambitious plans for the whole exercise to be run as an online business. It's a long shot of course. A big chunk of the population live in blissful ignorance of first hand experience of the Internet. However, it still has the potential for helping manage the publications and the accounts, and might even help increase the readership by making PDF copies available beyond the current physical delivery limits.

This is where plug the new Local Journal website. Like most pet projects it still has some way to go before it threatens to take over the world as the next big social networking phenomenon, but there's enough on it already to warrant some traffic, which is kinda why I'm writing this as at the moment it seems to have been ignored by Google and others and is pretty much invisible.

My blog posting about the Oakington Parish Council, together with the page posted on my Cambridge Web Directory (http://www.camwebdir.co.uk/) helped get the Parish Council's website listed after months in the digital wilderness and I'm hoping I can do the same thing for the Local Journal website. There's no particular target search terms but it would be nice for it to show up for Oakington-related terms and 'local journal'.
