Loquine Glupe, images and (Cambridge) web-design
Ther are, at the time of writing, 63,000 pages listed in Google for loquine glupe and one of mine is just in the top ten at no.10. Ideally I'd like this loquine glupe page to be listed instead, but I'm not complaining. I have some ideas about possible improvements but I simply don't have the time.

Images
Developing an adaptable image management system for websites has been in the back of my mind for ages, ever since I first built a site using PHP that featured its imagecopyresized funtion, and that must be several years ago.
Many of my projects feature ways of uploading images that work really well, but so far I've always written or adapted a website-, template- or page-specific script. Finally I've started to consider this whole area. The idea is to have a 'master images' folder where pictures can be uploaded using a web browser. An index file then creates standard thumbnails so that you can peruse its contents. Then, when you're adding or editing a page you can add an image in the same way as you add or edit a paragraph.
So far so good
I'll spare you the technical minutiae. Basically you click 'add image', you get a page of thumbnails and you click one which presents a large version of the image. If you like it and want to use it, you press a button and Hey Presto!
So far I've managed to produce a version that does this perfectly for this blog, but like most of my simple ideas there's a load of niggly options to ponder before I start to build it into client applications.
Meanwhile... 'web design'
I checked Google for 'web design' earlier and this site just ain't there. Still, at least any initial improvements will be easy to spot.
Time to stop.
