"If it ain't broke, don't fix it" some say, and while these words may contain a degree of wisdom, they are also tinged with dullness. "If it ain't broke, fiddle with it until it breaks, take it apart and then fix it. Or, failing repair, put the bits in a heap near a small dog or child and deny all knowledge", is my motto. Less catchy and less likely to be emblazed across the t-shirt wearing chest of a zany tourist, perhaps, but more daring and therefore more fun.

Hence some minor changes to this thing

As you might expect, this thing was low on the list of things to sort out when I re-design and re-built this website in the last quarter of 2004. Recently though I've begun to miss having somewhere to brain-dump in that small gap between office and home, particulary now I've got my mobile working as a modem again and occasionally find myself both online and able to follow a curious train of thought.

I could have simply re-skinned the previous version, but hey - "If it ain't broke..." and there is at least one real reason for making changes: if search engines include filenames when ranking web-pages I'm better off using the titles of these entries rather than the date.

Out of time

Typically, now that I've managed to overhaul the mechanics necessary to easily add and update content to this thing, it's too late to do so. Still, at least if the urge decends again everything it will be ready.
