So much for 'Cambridge web design'
[ Feb 04 2005, 18:57 ]Interesting, (if you're a bit of a sad net-nerd like me), to see how the last few entries in this thing have been regarded by the powers that 'G' - bad pun, sorry, but it is Friday and I have just done the Telegraph crossword, thanks to a little help from XSolver.co.uk on the last clue. A Google search for 'various interesting things' finds my 'Loquine Glupe' entry at no.1 today. A couple of days ago my 'various interesting things' entry was no.1. A search for 'Loquine Glupe' finds the 'Loquine Glupe' entry at no.11 which I'm quite proud of considering I'm probably up against every SEO bod in the world with a competitive streak. However, trying to find the 'Cambridge web design' blog entry that is nestled between these seems futile.
Links v. content v. links and content
Recently a search for 'various interesting things' found the 'various interesting things' entry at the top, but now it's nowhere and it seems to be the link in the main entry that's causing the 'Loquine Glupe' entry to show up instead. OK - time to stop - I'm beginning to bore myself - more on this some other time.
Meanwhile, a slightly amusing side-effect of my online publishing activities was receiving a phone call today from someone on a ski-lift in the Alps. I made his site live a few days ago and it's now being hit by robots and humans alike and generating enquires rather earlier than anticipated. What can I say? I should be good at this stuff by now - it's all I do.
