Loquine Glupe - the end is nigh

Mat Barnett of MJB Data summarises Luquine glupe and the loquine glupe SEO contest on the eve of the final day.

And the winner is...

Seraphim Proudleduck And Loquine Glupe probably. It's Sunday February 27 which means that there's really only about a day to publish something on the Internet that might effect Google's index by March 1 when the judging is due to take place. Seraphim Proudleduck pages seem to have been stuck to the top of the listings for some time now and only a really synical Google-bomb or mass-publication of a tonne of junk simultaneously across several well-ranked sites could have a hope of leaping to the top now I feel.

Why's this a winner

The usual combination of factors that help a site to rank well are apparent here: Content featuring the target term 'loquine glupe', loads of links featuring loquine glupe as anchor text, (like this loquine glupe), and a mini network of sites and pages designed with one central page to act as hub and therefore gain a high rank.

MJB's loquine glupe entry

There are perhaps half a dozen of so pages on www.mjbdata.co.uk that discuss loquine glupe. There are a couple of MJBlog entries, (loquine glupe published on Feb 2 and Loquine Glupe, images and (Cambridge) web-design published on Feb 19). Then there are a few specially published pages like this one that you're reading: my intended 'main' loquine glupe page, (http://www.mjbdata.co.uk/loquine_glupe/loquine_glupe.html), and a page looking at some spammy publishing methods being used by another contestant, Loquine Glupe heats up. It's this Loquine Glupe heats up page that is performaing well, (probably due to the numner of times 'Loquine Glupe' is featured), and today can be found on a gloabl search on google for Loquine Glupe on the first page and no.9 of about 98,100.

A loquine glupe success?

I think so. From my first MJBlog entry this site has never been out of the top few pages despite competition soaring from 1200 pages when the first loquine glupe MJBlog entry was published to nearly 100,000. Interestingly enough, yesterday's page count was around 110,000 which suggests that some over keen competitors have had their fingers burned. Unlike nearly all of the other entries I've looked at I feel that my efforts are about the most readable. Sure I've not often denied myself the opportunity to write loquine glupe here, and loquine glupe there and feature loquine glupe links all over the place too, but hey - compare my no.9 entry with no.8 below

Generous experts amongst you will notice that I've resisted the opportunity to republish a big chuck of this page as code. Doing so could quite easily see this page leapfrog the one being talked about, but I think that would be a bit cheeky of me. Instead, here's a loquine glupe PDF of Google's cache of this page. It's only a competition and loquine glupe doesn't mean anything. You'd hardly expect anyone to win the Booker or Pulitzer prize for their musings on loquine glupe, and this kind of content isn't doing any harm, but it's worth noting that generally speaking, writing content purely to rank well nealy always produces junk content and although large amounts of traffic can sometimes result, junk content usually equates to very low conversion rates and low repeat visitor levels.

And that's about all I've got time for

Of course I'll no doubt be checking the final listing positions on Tuesday March 1 just to see if there's any last minute shocks. There may be a mention in a MJBlog entry or two over the next day or so, but other than that this might just be the last time I mention loquine bloody glupe
