News from MJB Data -
back by popular demand, (sort of).

We haven't published anything under 'News' for quite some time, but we keep getting requests...

It's good practice to keep an eye on your website's errors, particularly 404 requests, (i.e. requests for pages that do not exist). Our built-in 404 error tracking shows that over the past 30 days the most requested phantom page on this website is '/news.php'

Most of the requests for our missing news page are coming from msnbot/2.0b - the program that Microsoft is using to create the index for its latest desperate attempt to elbow its way into the search market - Bing.com.

After Bing, the next most prevalent and persistent news hunter is the Russian search engine Yandex. Then there are a few others including Googlebot, Exabot, Yahoo! Slurp, searchme.com and seekda.com

As well as the automated traffic, there are also a number of referrals from an online discussion forum where someone has quoted one of my old articles and pointed a link to it:

The original article quoted on the Mambo Forum has been archived and is now available at the following address:

(Unless I've moved it or deleted it again of course)
