Tracking & website usage analysis

When MJB couldn't find the right reporting software we wrote our own.

It's probably one of the most overlooked aspects of a website, but for those who have been online for some time, and particularly those who have started to spend money to attract visitors, accurate information about a website's visitors is a critical issue and can have a significant financial impact.

Generally, the larger and more 'search-engine-friendly' a website is, the more search terms will find it. However, a website selling left-handed corkscrews will hardly benefit from traffic generated through searches relating to unicycles. When a website is receiving traffic from scores of different sites and search engines, and is generating business, how do you find out which channels are effective and which ones are a waste of money and bandwidth?

Anonymous, optional cookie tracking

By issuing visitors a unique reference number it becomes possible to analyse conversions and see the value of every referring site. In the case of search engine conversions it's also possible to value individual keywords.

The MJB Data tracking and analysis suite is built into all MJB websites as standard, with conversion tracking integrated where necessary. The system is also used on third-party websites, often as part of an online marketing campaign. Even with the most accurate information available, it can still sometimes require an expert to reveal what the numbers mean.

Example reports

Due to the commercially sensitive nature of the information contained in conversion analysis reports, it is not possible for MJB to allow public access to client systems. However, standard live traffic reports running on MJB-owned websites will soon be available.
